James Smith - Co-Founder & Director
James Smith co-founded Masters Academy in 2007. Since then he has delivered more than 50 professional development seminars, countless hours of classroom education and thousands of adjudications in competitions such as the PDC, ISDA, SDN, HICES, IPSHA, Legacy and the SMH Plain English Speaking Award. He has also served as Chief Adjudicator in the SDN competition since 2013. He is responsible for most of our educational resources to date including textbooks, podcasts and DVDs. As a member of The Arts Unit Flying Squad since 2008, he has supported the Department of Education and Communities by providing communication services to regional schools in NSW. With Masters Academy being a registered supplier of professional development for accredited teachers, he leads our professional learning services.
James is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts and Education at the University of New South Wales where he also delivers communication training for undergraduate and postgraduate students in entrepreneurial pitching competitions and courses. James is passionate about communication education, and ensuring that access to best practice resources is as equitable as possible for students and teachers around Australia.
